Kosherfest 2011 will be the community’s third kosher food show to date. Included in this extraordinary event will be an array of classic kosher foods featuring all of the traditional favorite Jewish classics such as knishes, latkes, matzah ball soup and deli sandwiches. All those in attendance are sure to have the “time of their life”. The event is open to the public and admission is $1. However admission is offered for free with registration here The event will offer a free raffle as well as all kinds of surprises and entertainment. A free raffle ticket will be offered to all those reserving in advance. All children will receive free door prizes.
Record crowds are expected at Chabad @ the Beaches’ Chanukah event on Tuesday, December 20th. In honor of Chabad @ the Beaches’ anniversary, Chabad @ the Beaches will sponsor a family oriented Chanukah Judaica, gift and fun fair titled “Chanukah Wonderland”, which begins at 4:30 P.M. at the Hampton Inn 1220 Marsh Landing Parkway Jacksonville Beach. The event will include a Menorah lighting and will continue in the lighting of a giant eight foot public Menorah at 6:00PM Culminating in talk by Holocaust survivor and lecturer Mr. Sidney Friedemann
In preparation for the Jewish new year, children and their families will craft their very own ram's horn instrument, known as "Shofar" in Hebrew, at Chabad-Lubavitch's "Shofar Factory". The children--with appropriate adult supervision--will help to cure, measure, saw, drill, and polish a real ram's horn to transform it into a working Shofar instrument. When the horns are complete, participants will learn how to perform the traditional sequence of notes sounded on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.
