The Eye Defines the "I" enlightend teens about the power of perception and empower them to take a stand against labeling others. To convey the power of perception, teens "disabled the label", discussing the origins and effects of labeling on personal and social levels and beyond. Teens created care packages and Rosh Hashanah cards for incarcerated individuals; they participated in perception-related games and personalized creative art, and even baked their own edible sunglasses!
In preparation for the Jewish new year, children and their families crafted their very own ram's horn instrument, known as "Shofar" in Hebrew, at Chabad's "Shofar Factory". The children helped to cure, measure, saw, drill, and polish a real ram's horn to transform it into a working Shofar instrument. When the horns were complete, participants learned how to perform the traditional sequence of notes sounded on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.
