Annually the President of the United States designates Education and Sharing Day U.S.A. on the anniversary of the birth of the Rebbe who dedicated his life to the cause of education.

During his lifetime, the Rebbe worked to reconcile secularism and man's enduring need for a religious philosophy and moral values by which to live. And today, Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries across the globe, inspired by the Rebbe's vision, continue this vital work.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory, the seventh leader in the Chabad-Lubavitch dynasty, is considered to have been the most phenomenal Jewish personality of modern times. To hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of sympathizers and admirers around the world, he was — and still is, despite his passing — "the Rebbe".
To emphasize the vital role of education in society, the United States annually marks "Education and Sharing Day U.S.A."

Established in 1978 by a joint Congressional resolution, Education Day U.S.A. focuses on the very foundation of meaningful education: instructing our youth in the ways of morality and ethics, and teaching them an appreciation for divine inviolable values.
