Attention all Schwartz, Weinstein, Cohen, Rousso and Kelman families In the Jacksonville Beaches Area: Operation Mishpaca is waiting to put you in touch with your roots. The Jewish community in the Jacksonville Beaches area will be hosting its first ever Jewish Cultural Festival. The Cultural Festival will take place on Sunday, September 14th from 12:30-2:30.The event’s main theme will be based on the Jewish world seen from the art, literature, music and culinary point of view.
First Of Its Kind
The cultural project is the first program of its kind to be organized by the Jewish Community in Jacksonville Beach Florida.
The idea for the festival originated from the collaboration between the
Kosher Food Festival’s success and the need for more expression of the Jewish arts.
Good Response
“After the great responses of the Kosher Food festival, that took place in August of 07,” Rabbi Kurinsky said, “I was very happy about the way the audience responded to the festival, and the need for additional Jewish cultural events became apparent. Jacksonville Beach is a culturally rich city, and many Jews want to tap into that. For those with art and musical talent, what better way can they contribute to Jewish culture?!”
During the festival we will showcase the works of Jewish artists, authors, chefs and the best of Jewish music. The show schedule will be 1:00 -The Best of Jewish Music
2:00 Children’s Story Time 3:00 Book lecture and signing with Stacey Goldring Author of On Wooden Wheels. There will be a special children’s section with art activities, face painting and story time. This is a great opportunity to give people a chance to become familiar with many of the traditional elements of Jewish culture in a comfortable, spirit and atmosphere.
The festival is scheduled to take place on Sunday September 14th from 12:30-3:30, whether you have artistic talent or not many volunteer positions are needed.
